Riverbed Steelhead Trial Support
IDS Professional Services has strategically categorized its service offerings to rapidly implement
new systems and other technological changes with minimal operational impact. These groups include Planning, Building and Operational Services.
The Riverbed Steelhead Trial Support is an IDS Enterprise Consulting professional services
offering that includes Riverbed Steelhead planning, deployment, configuration and testing
services. Leveraging Riverbed Best Practices, it will allow clients to test the Steelhead
products in their particular environment. In so doing, new insights will be gained into the
benefits and other issues involved in a Riverbed Steelhead solution deployment.
Generally executed as a proof of concept or planned trial of the Steelhead product, the Trial
Support Service will optimize the technology to provide a solid foundation for an informed
sales decision. The Riverbed Steelhead Trial Support Service is designed to provide continuity
throughout the sales cycle, from the decision to investigate the Steelhead product through to
the solution procurement. Customers that leverage the service will gain a detailed
understanding of the benefits of Riverbed's Wide-area Data Services solutions in their
particular environment.

Scope
- On-site assistance with deployment, configuration and testing of up to three Riverbed
Steelheads in up to three locations based out of a primary data center
- Creation and delivery of a customized trial plan
- The Trial Support does not replace the Riverbed Jumpstart, Training services or other
professional service offerings. Riverbed training courses have pre-defined and broadlyscoped
agendas. The Jumpstart Service is customized for a Riverbed solution's
production deployment and network design. The Trial Support service is designed to
facilitate the execution of a valid trial in an environment where technical staff are
unfamiliar with the devices and/or their operation.
