CommVault Data Migrator Implementation
IDS Professional Services has strategically categorized its service offerings to rapidly implement
new systems and other technological changes with minimal operational impact. These groups include Planning, Building and Operational Services.
The CommVault Data Migrator Implementation service is designed to enable customers to
meet the formidable challenge of increasing amounts of semi-structured and unstructured data
in their enterprise information environments. The Data Migrator service comprised of proven
Best Practices, deployed by the IDS Enterprise Consulting Professional Services team.
CommVault Data Migrator enables cstomers to decrease Total Cost of Ownership for data by
implementing tiered storage management policies and auditing capabilities in heterogenious
environments, including Microsoft Exchange, network attached storage (NAS) environments,
Novell, Solaris and Windows.
Data Migrator Implmentation service is provided as an option to the CommVault Galaxy
Implementation Service. When combined with IDS's assessment and design services, the
customer's storage management requirements are compiled and a Data Migrator services
solution is designed to meet the business needs.
Standard Services
- Installation of Data Migrator Modules Includes the services necessary to deploy the Data
Migrator modules.
- Installation and Configuration of Microsoft Client Add-in Components Includes the
services required to deploy the NAS, Data Migrator File System driver components and the Outlook customer add-in component that integrate with the Data Migrator module
enabling recoveries of stubbed objects from Data Migrator.
- Validation of Data igrator Data Migration Addresses the testing and verification of the
Data Migrator module functionality.
- Clustering Support for Data Migrator Modules Necessary when deploying Data Migrator in a clusterd mode.
- Basic Project Coordination Performance of basic project management activities; serves
as single point of contact scheduling IDS resources and risk mitigation to ensure quality service delivery in a timely manner.
Optional Services
- Data Migrator/Content Indexing Assessment and Design Comprehensive scalability and
deployment validation based on customer requirements for 2, 3 and 5 year storage
requirements. Addresses both centralized and decentralized environments.
- Post Installation Documentation Reviews how the software modules are installed in the
customer environment.
- Proof of Concept Installation and Testing Necessary when a Proof of Concept or Pilot
installation is required. This should be set up to represent as near to production environment as possible.
- Data Migrator Operations Testing Addresses daily requirements for the maintenance of a
healthy and secure Data Migrator solution.
- Customer Specific Installation and Upgrade Documentation Customized documentation
can be created that is specific to the actual user environment and defines the required
paths, retention requirements, policy design, library configuration, etc.
- Disaster Recovery for Data Migrator Customized disaster recovery designs that include
storage policy, copies and replication ensuring customers meet their Recovery Time Objectives.
